It’s for students, professionals, and creators who use Gemini for research, writing, coding, and content creation and want the paid tier on their existing Google account.

Google AI Pro unlocks the Gemini app with Google’s Pro-level models, Deep Research for compiling multi-source reports, longer context for large files and documents, and AI image and video creation tools. Gemini also works inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and other Google apps, and NotebookLM gets higher limits for research and study notes.

The plan’s 2 TB of storage is shared across Google Drive, Gmail, and Google Photos, so your files, mail, and photos all benefit from the upgrade.

Important information

Payments profile must be closed: your Google payments profile must be closed before you join. This removes saved payment methods and ends any Google subscriptions billed through it, so consider using a fresh Gmail if you have active paid Google services.
No existing family group: your account cannot already belong to a Google family group. Leave any current group before accepting.
Stay in the group: leaving the family group after joining ends your Google AI Pro access. Plan features are listed on the official Google AI Pro page.
Non-refundable: once the invitation has been sent, the order cannot be refunded or exchanged.

How to prepare your Gmail

Open Gmail, click your profile picture, and select Manage your Google Account.
Go to Payments & subscriptions and click Manage payment methods.
Open Payments settings, scroll down, and select Close payments profile.
Reload the settings page to confirm the payments profile shows as closed.
Go to People & sharing and open Family group. If you’re already in a group, select Leave family group.
